My name is María del Rosario Ledezma, although everyone calls me Charo. I am originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and currently reside in Garland, Texas. My life in the United States began as a temporary stay, but became a new home when security in my country became complicated. Here, my two daughters were born and have begun to build their future. My oldest daughter will soon graduate with a degree in International Business, and I am incredibly proud. Although my life is in a good place today, it hasn't always been easy.
Upon arriving in the United States, facing the distance from my family and friends was one of the biggest challenges. Coming from a very close-knit family, the separation was painful. To overcome the emptiness, I immersed myself in work, often without taking the time to care for myself. My diet and exercise routine took a backseat, even though it was always something I was passionate about. However, my desire to volunteer and my desire to learn was always present, even when I could not dedicate the time they required.
Everything fell apart with the loss of my father, a year and four months ago. It was a devastating blow. However, in my quest to heal my grief, I reached out to several support organizations. It was during an "Attitudes & Attire" class that I discovered ROSAesROJO. I was very intrigued and decided to join their wellness program: "The Rojo Way".
Before meeting ROSAesROJO, I already had several strengths. I have always been a resilient person, willing to learn and contribute to my community. But the program helped me rediscover and enhance these qualities. I learned to take better care of my physical, mental and emotional health, and each session was a source of happiness and knowledge, thanks to the unconditional support of Tania, Yesi and Yuliana, who collaborate in the organization. They were always willing to answer our questions and motivate us to achieve our goals.
ROSAesROJO showed me that it is possible to make significant changes in my life, always starting with small steps. I improved my diet, resumed my exercise routine, and learned to take care of my mental health. This trip has not only benefited me, but it has also had a positive impact on my family.
Today, I feel truly empowered in health. Applying the knowledge I acquired in the program has been transformative. My family has noticed the changes and that fills me with happiness. When I meet with friends and family, I share my experience and encourage them to walk their own Rojo Way, knowing that every little step counts.
ROSAesROJO is much more than an organization; It is a pillar of support in physical, mental and emotional health. I invite everyone to explore their programs and discover how they can change your life and well-being.
Although my journey of empowerment continues, I am committed to continuing to learn and grow every day. If you are also looking for a change, I encourage you to give yourself the opportunity to walk this path. I invite you to join this incredible community and discover the power of your own empowerment.
